An affordable red Burgundy (100% Pinot Noir) from an outstanding producer. Excellent fruit and structure that only the French seem to be able to achieve.
This wine is a blend of selected parcels of grapes from across the Burgundy region. Vineyards for this wine are mostly in the Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Generally of clay-rich, lime nature, the soil varies according to origin.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir.
Soil: Generally of clay-rich, lime nature, the soil varies according to origin.
Alcohol: 12.5 % VOL
Wine making: Vinification is of traditional Burgundian type, in open vats with twice-daily punching of cap. Maturation takes place partly in 228 litre oak Burgundy casks, to mellow the aromas, partly in vats to preserve fruitiness.
Our Tasting notes: Deep and bright garnet-red colour. On the nose, lovely fruitiness, with aromas of strawberries, blackcurrant, and some sweet spices. On the palate it is well-balanced with good mineral notes. It has fine tannins and good liveliness. Very nice!
Serving suggestions: It would be ideal with red meats, poultry in wine sauces and tasty cheeses. Serve at 16°C (so pop into the fridge for 30 minutes in summer to take the edge off any warmth)
Cellaring potential: Enjoy now or keep for 3 to 5 years.
Single bottles, multiple bottles or complete boxes (12 bottles) may be ordered.
