“One of the best value wines in Bordeaux” Robert Parker. Oz wine writer Winsor Dobbin said “Bordeaux that is delicious but affordable”.
Château Greysac is a Cru Bourgeois producer in the Médoc and was recently purchased by Jean Guyon, owner of Château Rollan de By.
Through this acquisition Domaines Rollan de By becomes one of the most important properties of the Medoc, both for the quality of its wines and its size – altogether 200 hectares of exceptional terroir of clay and gravelly soils around the village of By. Distributed in over 50 countries, their wines are also often selected by airlines for their customers, especially in Business Class.
Region/Terroir: Médoc.
Grapes: 65% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc.
Soil: Quaternery gravel and clay.
Alcohol: 12.5% VOL
Wine making: The vines have an average age of 20 years. Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel temperature controlled vats over 3 months with lees batonnage. The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels.
Cellaring potential: Drink 2014-2020 or possibly later. Drinking beautifully now (last tasted August 2018)
Tasting notes: Gilbert and Gaillard summed it up nicely: “Fairly deep garnet-red. Distinctive fruity, spicy and vegetal nose. Round, robust and savoury palate revealing more of the nose aromatics. Structure and freshness on the finish. A good wine that will appeal to lovers of classic Médoc.”

Jeannie Cho Lee: “Fresh, vibrant nose of ripe, mixed berries, touch of cedar. Soft entry and has potential to open and be much more expressive given a few years time in the bottle. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France – April 2009”.

Parker: “the finest dry white I have tasted from Olivier” 90-92 points! Many of the white wines from neighbouring estates are selling for 2-4 times the price. 11 bottles remain.
Last 11 bottles – don’t miss out! Still drinking beautifully.
Cru Borgeois Bordeaux at its best. We think this is wine with a WOW factor. Currently being served on Air France A380 Buisness Class. Recently out-ranked Chateau Margaux and Chateau Cheval Blanc in a blind tasting.
